Capital equipment shipments are unlike any other due to their size, value and often delicate nature. Handling these shipments requires extensive coordination, exceptional communication, a controlled environment and product expertise. To support our clients in the movement of their capital goods, KWE established the Capital Equipment Team; the objective of this team is to streamline and optimize KWE's capital equipment handling process.

Understanding the need for direction and precision, the Capital Equipment Team created customized standard operating procedures (SOP) covering all aspects of capital tools handling from origin door to destination door and installation. When appropriately localized, these SOPs are the basis for all KWE capital equipment handling operations globally.

KWE's capital equipment SOPs address all critical aspects of the supply chain process:

  • Training
  • Monitoring and Coordination
  • Communication
  • Environmental Control (temperature and humidity)
  • Inspection
  • Condition Check (shock/tilt indicators)
  • Documentation
  • Loading & Unloading Supervision
  • Crating and Rigging Arrangements
  • Decontamination Arrangements
  • Decommission/Deinstallation Arrangements
  • Standardized Checklists

Each capital equipment shipment is overseen by a dedicated specialist from the Capital Equipment Team. These personnel are experienced in handling these sensitive shipments - they know how to coordinate the entire process to reduce total transit time and minimize physical handling. Currently, KWE's Capital Equipment Team is represented in the US, China, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore and Europe.
